What kind of photographer am i?

I see the world in colors & textures, always looking for the beauty in you, seeking out the best light & background so your photos are unique works of art.  

My first years after college were in a classroom, teaching high school art.  After 11 years of pouring into other people's children, I traded public school for motherhood.  Those daily interactions in high school classrooms taught me a valuable lesson. I learned how to really see individuals in my large classes & to create a safe place for connection through creativity. 

After the first 7 years of unexplained infertility, our loving God gave us the gift of children.  Our four beautiful daughter are now between the ages of 2 and 10 and each have a unique blend of silly and sweet.  They fill my heart with love unimaginable.  Spending these years at home with my girls has been beyond rewarding (& challenging, of course!).  

This is why I understand how deeply you love your own children.  What a privilege to witness your bond with your family, to see the small moments that define your love for each other & to give you timeless photos to hold onto for a lifetime.

I earned my Art/Education degree studying the many ways to be a maker - drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics & stained glass.  My education at College of the Ozarks taught me the visual vocabulary to translate the beauty that I find all around me into images.  

Seeking beauty is what I continue to do through my photography.  I love to discover the hidden treasure of your authentic, God-breathed beauty in your expressions of love for your dear ones.  

When just the right amount of creativity, connection & grace comes together to make a perfect shot, it's a moment that can't be forced.  Showing up and being present, that's what it's all about.
