Hi, I’m Kate Fried.

(Pronounced "freed").

I'm married to a 7th grade American History teacher named Nick.  We're raising four free-spirited girls in our home that 3 years ago was destroyed by a fire then 1 year ago rebuilt.  It is where our roots are.  It is where are hearts are.  We have been through a rough season in the last few years, but God has been with us every step of the way.  He is so good and He is always faithful.

Life in our house is a roller coaster of creative chaos, big emotions, and learning to love Jesus and each other one day at a time.

I'm a big fan of simple joys: watching the sunrise from my porch swing, hugging a friend I haven't seen in ages, chocolate chip ice cream in a hot bath...

I see the world in colors & textures, always looking for the beauty in you, seeking out the best light & background so your photos are unique works of art.

My first years after college were in a classroom, teaching high school art.  After 11 years of pouring into other people's children, I traded public school for motherhood.  Those daily interactions in high school classrooms taught me a valuable lesson. I learned how to really see individuals in my large classes & to create a safe space for connection through creativity.

After the first 6 years of unexplained infertility, God gave us the sweet gift of children.  We now have four girls who are between the ages of 2 and 11 and are each so incredibly different from each other.  Spending these years at home with them has been the most rewarding season of my life (& challenging, of course!). More than a decade of all the mom things has permanently changed my identity.  I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks.

= ME!

The joy and delight stored up in my heart from each session is truly a gift that I'm thankful for every day that I'm able to shoot sessions with you.  Your family's love for each other is truly life-giving.

my girls - Willa (2), Gracelynn (7), Zoey (9) & Norah (11)
