When I started describing my photography as natural & joyful, I realized those words describe me, too.

I'm down-to-earth, easy-going & I'm always looking for the joy in the middle of real life.

For me, that joy ultimately comes from Jesus, who has taught me that joy isn't dependent on everything going perfectly.

I'm married to a 7th grade American History teacher & we're raising four free-spirited girls in the home that was destroyed by a fire three years ago & rebuilt a year later.

Our home is where our hearts are.

Life in our house is a roller coaster of creative chaos, big emotions & learning to love Jesus & each other one day at a time.

We've been through a rough season in the last few years, but God has been with us every step of the way.

He is so good & He is always faithful.

I see the world through an artist's eyes. I'm always noticing light, color, texture, composition & the little details that make something beautiful.

I can't help but look for those things when I'm photographing your family, too. I want your photos to feel beautiful and artistic, but still look & feel like you.

a teacher +

My first years after college were spent in a classroom, teaching high school art. After 11 years of dedicating myself to other people's children, I transitioned from public school to motherhood.

Those years in the classroom taught me a lot about people. I learned how to notice the quiet kid in the back of the room, how to connect with very different personalities & how to create a space where people feel comfortable being themselves.

I bring all of that with me into a family session.

I know kids don't always cooperate. I know some are shy, some are wild & some need a little time to warm up.

That's okay.

We're going to work with who they are rather than trying to make them fit into a mold.

a mother +

After five years of unexplained infertility, God blessed us with our girls.

We now have four daughters, ages 2 through 11. Spending these years at home with them has been the most rewarding season of my life (& the most challenging, of course!).

Motherhood has profoundly changed me.

It has made me more aware of how quickly childhood passes & how ordinary moments become the things we miss the most.

It has also taught me that a family doesn't have to look perfect to be beautiful.

The joy and delight I experience during each session is truly a gift I cherish.

I love getting to step into your family's little world for an hour, to see the way your kids laugh, the way they cling to you, the personalities that come out when they forget I'm there.

Your family's love for each other, captured through my lens, is life-giving in the best possible way.
