What is a family session going to be like?

FIRST...

You can relax.

Your whole family is in clean clothes, you made it to the spot, you showed up, now you can let me take the reins. You can't help but look around though, wondering how this is going to go...

Your 6-year-old either hides behind your legs or heads straight for the creek.

You immediately envision disaster.

But just for a minute, imagine if we do end up with soggy shoes and sticks. What if these joyful family moments actually result in photos of pure delight, muddy shoes and all?

Imagine if someone in your crew is slow to warm up, but your patience pays off. We’ll play games that get everyone moving, interacting, and discovering our way together.

What if the things you’re most nervous about happening might just turn into your favorite photos in the entire gallery?

THEN...

Trust the process. It may feel like herding feral cats at times (my own family photos always do!), but you can trust the process. We'll start with the large group photos while everyone is a bit inhibited and on their best behavior. Then we'll transition into smaller groupings and prompts that help get natural expressions. We'll even let the squirrely kids get the wiggles out with silly games before the next pose. Before you know it, you'll forget we're there for family pictures because you're actually having fun.

Go home remembering why you came.

These people - little, medium, and big - are your safe place, your home, your family. You would give your left arm to help one of them if you had to. Fortunately you don't have to :-)

The easiest things to give them are your time, your attention, and photographs that last a lifetime.
